Christmas Function 2025
Christmas was celebrated in a grand manner on 23.12.2025 at the Hi-Tech Polytechnic College of the T.T.N Educational Group, located at Samugarengapuram in Tirunelveli District. On this occasion, Rev. Devanbu from Valliyur CSI Church offered prayers and delivered the Christmas message.
Students and teachers worshipped by singing hymns celebrating the birth of Jesus. The Chairman of the college, Er. T. Lawrence, and the Correspondent, Mrs. Helen Lawrence, presided over the function and distributed sweets to all teachers, students, and staff members, extending Christmas and New Year greetings to everyone.
Students erected a Christmas crib in the college campus and worshipped Jesus Christ. A Christmas crib competition was conducted for the students, and prizes were given to all participants. Special prizes were awarded to the students who secured the first three places. Cultural programmes by students highlighting the life of Jesus Christ were also performed during the celebration.
On this occasion, the Principal of the college, Dr. Suresh Thangaraj Thompson, delivered a special address. The arrangements for the event were made by the teaching staff and office staff.
First Year Association Function
At Hi-Tech Polytechnic College located in Samugarengapuram, Tirunelveli District, the Engineers’ Association Inauguration Ceremony for first-year students was held on 26.08.2025.
The special guest of the event was Er. M. Abbas Muthu, Head of the Production Division at RSM Autocast Private Limited, Rajinikanth Trust, Coimbatore. He inaugurated the Engineers’ Association and offered valuable guidance and advice to the students related to the field of engineering. The College Chairman Er. T. Lawrence and the Correspondent Mrs. Helen Lawrence participated in the event and delivered felicitation addresses.
The Principal of the college, Dr. G. Suresh Thangaraj Thompson, delivered the special address, explaining the guidelines and practices that students should follow to enhance their skills and knowledge in the technical field through the Engineers’ Association.
First-year Computer Engineering student Dhanam delivered the welcome address, and Eswari, a student, delivered the vote of thanks. A speech competition on the topic “Technology” was conducted for the students. This was followed by cultural performances by the students.
Faculty members, Heads of Departments, and teachers from various departments participated in the event and provided valuable guidance to the students. The event was successfully organized by Mr. M. Balamurugan, Head of the First-Year Department, along with the teaching staff and students.
Mechanical Symposium
At Hi-Tech Polytechnic College functioning under the TTN Educational Group, Valliyur, a State-Level Technical Competition was organized by the Mechanical Engineering Department on 01.08.2025. Students from various polytechnic colleges across Tamil Nadu participated in this competition.
The event was presided over by Er. T. Lawrence, Chairman of the TTN Educational Group, who delivered the inaugural address and formally inaugurated the programme. The Principal of the college, Dr. G. Suresh Thangaraj Thompson, delivered the felicitation address.
In the Technical Paper Presentation competition, students from Kovilpatti Lakshmi Ammal Polytechnic College secured both the first and second prizes, while the third prize was won by students from P.A.C. Ramasamy Raja Polytechnic College, Rajapalayam.
In the Computer-Aided Design (CAD) competition, the first prize was won by a student from Bhaktavachalam Polytechnic College, Kanchipuram, the second prize by a student from P.A.C. Ramasamy Raja Polytechnic College, Rajapalayam, and the third prize by a student from FX Polytechnic College, Tharuvai, Tirunelveli.
In the Technical Quiz competition, the first prize was secured by the team from SKATE Polytechnic College, Cheranmahadevi, the second prize by the team from Vivekananda Polytechnic College, Kanyakumari, and the third prize by the team from Jayaraj Annapackiam Polytechnic College, Nazareth.
Overall, based on the cumulative points tally, the team from Kovilpatti Lakshmi Ammal Polytechnic College emerged as the Champions. Certificates and trophies were awarded to all the winners. Cash prizes of ₹1,000 were awarded to first-place winners in each competition, and ₹500 to second-place winners.
Prior to the competitions, the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department presented the Annual Report for the Academic Year 2024–2025. The welcome address was delivered by Benjamin Charles Joshua, a third-year Mechanical Engineering student, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Jonah Wilson, a second-year Mechanical Engineering student.
Freshers Day
The inaugural ceremony for the 2025–26 academic year was held on 16.06.2025 at Hi-Tech Polytechnic College, functioning under the TTN Educational Group, Samugarengapuram. First-year and direct second-year (lateral entry) students, along with their parents, participated in the programme.
The College Chairman Mr. Lawrence and the Correspondent Mrs. Helen Lawrence attended the event, warmly welcomed the students, and conveyed their best wishes. On this occasion, the Chairman Er. Lawrence happily informed the parents that the college bus service would continue to be provided free of cost to all students during the current academic year as well.
In his concluding address, the College Principal Dr. Suresh Thangaraj Thompson offered various guidelines and motivational advice to the students and extended his best wishes for their academic success.
During the programme, Mr. Ramki, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, presented a detailed report highlighting the events conducted at the college and the achievements of students during the 2024–25 academic year. The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Mohamed Irbam, Head of the Electronics Department, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Annal Janani, Lecturer in the English Department.
The event was well organized by the faculty members of the college.
